Students Pass is Suitable For:
- Foreign nationals wishing to pursue full-time studies
in Singapore
Note:
- Applicant must first be accepted by an approved
private educational institution or kindergartens
registered with Ministry of Education or a childcare
centre licensed by Ministry of Community Development,
Youth and Sports to pursue an approved full-time
course
- A local sponsor is required for the application
for a Students Pass and the applicant is required
to submit the application through the local sponsor.
The applicant's nominated local sponsor must be:
a Singapore citizen/permanent resident above the
age of 21 years old, or the educational institution
where applicant intends to study

to work in Singapore without a work permit on following
conditions:
- Foreign students who are full-time matriculated
or registered students of institutions
approved by the Ministry of Manpower are allowed
to work for less than 16 hours per week on part
time basis
- Foreign students who are 14 years of age or above
and full-time matriculated or registered students
of institutions
approved by the Ministry of Manpower are allowed
to work during their vacation
- Foreign students who wish to take up employment
while waiting for his/her results or convocation
ceremony must write to the Controller of Work Permits
(Work Pass Division) for permission to do so
