Citizenship through Descent is Suitable For:
- A child born abroad:
- to a male Singapore citizen by Birth who has a lawful marriage at the time of child's birth
- to a male Singapore citizen by Registration who has a lawful marriage at time of child's birth. Child shall not acquire citizenship of the country where he/she was born by reason of his/her birth in that country
- to a female Singapore citizen by Birth on or after 15 May 2004
- to a female Singapore citizen by Registration on or after 15 May 2004. Child shall not acquire citizenship of the country he/she was born by reason of his/her birth in that country
Note: Male (who has a lawful marriage at time of child's birth) or Female Singapore citizen by Descent has to complete an additional annex to the application declaring their residence period in Singapore
